If you're like me, news of Global Warming and Climate Change can create feelings of hopelessness and helplessness. However, I'd recently read The Van Gogh Blues-the creative person's guide through depression. Basically, Eric Maisel says that WE CREATE MEANING; no one is going to build the yellow brick road for us. I asked myself how could I create meaning when the planet is in peril. Memories flowed forward from my early teaching life with Inupik-Inuit in Arctic Alaska; I recalled how indigenous people pray to guardian spirits. Rainmaker's Prayers Anthology is a result of my placing an ad in Poets and Writers Magazine. More than two hundred people responded with stories and poems about spirit and nature, prayer, indigenous ceremonies and personal responsibility. This blog is a commentary, update and show place for a paradigm shift: co-creation with nature. For more about me as a writer google "Shinan Barclay."
